your first step to cultural funding information
Trans-National funding programme and Structural funds information, including EU funds for third country programmes.
There are two main types of EU funding programmes:
Trans-National Funds – these funds support either projects involving partners from (usually) at least three different EU countries or for exchanges or visits of individuals or groups between different EU countries
- Structural Funds – these funds are allocated to economically disadvantaged parts of the EU to help them with economic and social regeneration
In addition, there are some programmes that support links with countries outside the EU – these are known as third country programmes.
Cultural projects have been supported through all three of these types of programmes. Please note, however, that the EU can only fund projects – it cannot provide annual or revenue funding to any cultural organisation based just in one country - though it can provide funding for pan-European network organisations or European "cultural ambassadors". Clicking on one of the headings below will take you to a page with information on these programmes, together with contacts for further detailed information.
TRANS-NATIONAL / STRUCTURAL / THIRD COUNTRIES
The programmes that are most directly relevant to the cultural sector are both trans-national funds:
- the Culture programme – for arts and heritage
- the Media 2007 programme – for the audiovisual sector
Clicking on one of the headings below will take you straight to the UK webpages for these two programmes:
